Midnight Cowboy Honors Million Mile Drivers
The Midnight Cowboy Radio Network and Petro have a contest for Million Mile Drivers from all across America. These drivers have driven over 1,000,000 miles without a chargeable safety violation. So far our ATS drivers Joe Stan Hicks, (September) Don Van Ert, Roy Kowski, Bob McCracken and Bill Wang have won.

They receive a denim embroidered coat, flashlight, key chain and, membership card to that Million Mile Club. Only 104 drivers will be inducted each year, and only the safest drivers are considered for membership. Congratulations to these fine drivers.

Website Update
WOW, what a busy 2 months this has been! Here are some of the changes that have taken place:

BroadVision the software we use to power our website has announced a new version 6.0. The enhancements this new version will offer are a direct connection to our Database and full XML compatibility. This will allow us to share information directly with our customers when they ask for it. We are currently evaluating this version.

August 1, 2001 ATS/Sureway (www.atssureway.com) went live with their website and offers real time available loads for our carrier partners and a new forms section for our broker/agents.

HOLA from ICE. Yes you got it, we are currently having the ICE website translated into Spanish. ICE has built quite a clientele in Spanish speaking markets so we will begin communicating with them in their native language beginning Mid September 2001. The remaining divisions will be converted as the business needs and employee support are put in place.

As we mentioned in the last issue, the company store will be making its online debute in September. This will allow drivers and employees to order from the website and have merchandise drop shipped directly to their homes.

ATS Driver Lends a Helping Hand
ATS/Specialized driver Jim Knepfler was west bound on I-26 in North Carolina. He was listening to the chatter on the CB radio that turned out to be more than just chatter. Another driver was asking for assistance from one of his fellow drivers in the area. Jim asked what the man needed and found out he had not been feeling well and his body had gone numb.

The other driver did not know if he could drive anymore. Jim responded to the call and got off at the next exit. He proceeded to call for help and was also able to take the drivers load to the next truck stop. Jim's response when asked how it felt to be able to help a fellow driver "(I am) Happy to know I was able to help a fellow driver out. I would hope that if the situation were reversed, someone would do the same for me."
