Website Update
It has been 10 months since our new website went live, and the response has been great. Our new website provides separate portals for our drivers, customers and the public at large.

The BroadVision platform that powers the site has been used to drive specific content to the different user groups as well as offering load tracking to our customers. One of the newest features is real-time load availability for our ATS/Sureway Division.

In January ICE (www.iceintl.com) went live with their website and offers the same tools and load tracking abilities as those offered to ATS customers.

What's in the future? Here is a glimpse of what is in development: an Employee Intranet, ATS/Sureway website and the Company Store online.

New Colors for ATS Trucks!
ATS trucks will have a new look very soon. The new 2002 Freightliners, which began delivering in April, are arriving in a variety of four colors. Metallic Red, Metallic Silver, Medium Blue Metallic and Sable (Black) Metallic. The familiar Red, White and Blue decals will remain the same. The majority of the trucks ordered are Classic XL's with 70" raised roofs. The new Freightliner model "Columbia", will be fleet tested in Vans and Flatbed. Engines will be a mixture of CAT C15, Cummins N14 and Detroit Series 60.

The ATS shop at Gary, Indiana is in the process of getting bids for a communication device to let drivers know when their tractors/trailers are out of the shop. One idea that is being explored is a public address system on which unit numbers that are completed and ready to roll are announced on the loudspeaker. Other options are a single frequency two way radio so mechanics could communicate directly with the driver, or a pager that would be given to the driver so he could be paged when his unit is ready to go. We want to keep those trucks in good working order and on the road!

Personal computers have been installed in the drivers room at Gary, St. Cloud, and in Andies Cafe in the St. Cloud office. Drivers can access their E-mail and view the ATS web site and its links from these locations.

An electronic MEC (Materials and Equipment) program was implemented on January 1, 2001. This program replaces the old paper forms on which fleet managers authorized accessory equipment for drivers. This electronic MEC provides instant information to the shop for what equipment you are picking up. When you arrive at the shop, the parts technician will call up the authorization on the computer and issue the equipment. No more waiting for faxed authorizations to get to the shop. Remember only your fleet manager can authorize this equipment, so be sure to make arrangements with him/her during regular business hours for any accessory equipment you may need.
