MERLYN BRUNS RETIRES
In 1979, Jimmy Carter was President, Iranian students took over the American embassy in Tehran, Three Mile Island had a nuclear meltdown and Merlyn Bruns started driving for Anderson Trucking Service. In the ensuing 26 years, the complexities of the world changed our lives in many ways, but one thing remained constant - Merlyn Bruns. Originally in flatbeds, Merlyn eventually moved to the van division and logged almost two million safe miles as he became a ”fixture” on the Anderson fleet.

In May 2005, Merlyn retired from his life on the road, and began the next phase of his journey. At a ceremony in St Cloud, ATS employees celebrated his accomplishments, shared memories over coffee and punch, and wished Merlyn all the best in the future. Rollie Anderson and Merlyn reflected back on the changes within the industry over the past 3 decades - particularly the evolution of the truck. As a" gentleman of leisure", Merlyn will spend time with his family in Ft Dodge, Iowa, and pursue his hobbies of fishing and watching NASCAR.

On behalf of everyone at Anderson Trucking Service, we salute the outstanding career of Merlyn Bruns, and hope he enjoys his retirement.

WIRELESS IS AVAILABLE AT THE GARY TERMINAL
Wireless Internet Access, or WI-FI, has been installed at Gary, Indiana yard. WI-FI is available from the truck cab or inside the terminal. It provides unlimited Internet access which can be used for web browsing, e-mail, etc.

We are still doing some final adjustments to the towers in the yard to ensure the best possible coverage and availability. If you are at the Gary yard and use the WI-FI service we would appreciate some feedback from you. Please e-mail Lee Justin in our IS Department with when you were there, where you were parked and if the access was satisfactory. His e-mail address is lee@atsinc.com.

There is no cost to the driver for this Internet access, but the driver needs to supply his / her own PC and wireless card.
